A police officer has been arrested in the capital by AMP agents, after being accused of abuse of office and corruption.

His arrest was made possible after an investigation administered evidence and facts that the officer had used the function and attributes of the judicial police, to request and receive the monetary amount of 50,000 lek, promising to avoid criminal liability to a citizen, who a few days ago he was reported by another citizen for threats.

"The Police Supervision Agency (Tirana Region), after intensive investigations carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, applying also special methods of investigation, has arrested in the act the police officer, Deputy Commissioner KP, 35 years old, with the duty of Specialist for the Investigation of Crimes at Police Station No. 4 Tirana, as a suspect for committing the criminal offense "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions". At the end of the actions, the amount of 50 thousand ALL, a Hyundai vehicle, a mobile device and other documents related to the event were seized as material evidence.

Investigations continue for complete documentation with legal evidence, as well as the identification of other possible employees involved in this event.
