Three-story building to be demolished with TNT tomorrow

The National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection has announced that tomorrow, at 07:30, a three-story building built without a permit near the Vlora-Orikum road axis will be demolished with TNT.

Through an official post, IKMT announces that the explosion will be controlled and will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, the Engineering Forces of the Armed Forces and the State Police.

In the interest of public safety and the smooth running of the operation, the Inspectorate, through this announcement, asks citizens and businesses in the area for cooperation in respecting the security perimeter and the measures taken.

On Monday, 11.08.2025, at 07:30, IKMT has planned to carry out the controlled demolition of a three-story reinforced concrete building, located near the Vlora-Orikum road axis.

This action will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, the Engineering Forces of the Armed Forces and the State Police.

For the demolition of this building:

1,100 linear meters of detonating fuse have been laid.

32 kilograms of explosives are planned.

To minimize the impact on the surrounding area and to guarantee the smooth running of the tourist season, the explosion will be carried out in the early hours of the morning.

In cooperation with the State Police, all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the operation is successful.

For this reason, the Vlora-Orikum road axis will be temporarily blocked, and arrangements have been made with the relevant structures to cut off the electricity supply 15 minutes before the explosion.

Also, measures have been taken for the presence of fire engines, ambulances and relevant personnel.

All owners of buildings near the security perimeter have been notified, requesting their cooperation and informing them of the protective measures they must take to avoid possible damage.

IKMT asks for the understanding of citizens and businesses operating in this area. We assure you that, in cooperation with law enforcement structures, interventions will continue with the force of law against any unauthorized construction throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania.
