An Albanian baker working for a hotel on the tourist island of Rhodes was arrested by Greek police shortly after being reported by a 36-year-old stripper for rape.
The 26-year-old man was detained by OPKE police officers at the Arkhangelsk Police Department, and the incident took place at a hotel in Faliraki, according to the complainant.
He denied the accusation and said that the girl had gone willingly and there was no violence.
After taking testimony for several hours at the police station, the Albanian was released from custody, but will be under investigation after being charged with sexual abuse and will be sent for trial.
The stripper testified that the two had met by chance on an app and then met.
According to her, the Albanian insisted on a private meeting and on Sunday morning they agreed to meet.
Then they went to a beach in Rhodes, to a building where seasonal workers stayed.
She said she objected to the 26-year-old, whose name was not released, as he testified in the presence of a psychologist, giving the details.
Despite her objections, the Albanian sexually abused her. They had met a year ago and maintained frequent communication on Viber.
The Albanian drove her to the hotel where she was staying and there in the room he began to harass her, until he became violent.
She said she suffered a panic attack as a result of the sexual assault. After he walked her home, he asked her out on more dates, but the girl said he deleted her from the app.
But the next day she saw him near her workplace and felt threatened, so she filed a complaint, Greek media reports.
But during his testimony, the Albanian said that the consent was mutual and that he had not threatened him.
He said that he went to her the next day to give her breakfast and coffee and not to threaten her.
