New details have emerged about the macabre murder of Albanian woman Marjola Nakoleci by her husband, Pandeli Nakoleci, in Volos , Greece.
Greek media outlet Zougla.gr writes about what happened in the apartment where the couple lived and the 36-year-old's last moments of escape.
"She ran to save herself," begins the Zougla.gr article.
" I took a knife from a set on the balcony and started chasing her. First inside the apartment, even breaking the wooden kitchen door, which the woman tried to close, but without success, in order to block me on the balcony. She ran for her life, walking up the stairs and down the hallway, but in the end I caught her. Despite the 13-year-old boy's attempts to stop me, I caused serious injuries to his wrists, neck and ribs with the knife I had in my hand, leaving him bleeding on the ground, " the author is said to have testified, according to Greek media.
"He then ran from the scene, knife in hand, to avoid arrest," he continues.
In his testimony, the 41-year-old expressed remorse, apologizing to his family.
"I apologize profusely to my entire family. She was the mother of my children. She hurt me a lot. She told me that the child she aborted was not mine. Then I was confused and did not understand anything about how it happened. I did not follow her. I only remember going out onto the balcony, after that I do not remember anything. I had the knife on the balcony, I took it to threaten her if what she said was true. I threw it (the knife) on the street near the house, I do not remember where. The eldest daughter came and saw me in prison," he said.
In his apology, he also mentioned the psychiatric problems he faces, and even revealed the suicide attempt he made in June, with his son saving him at the last moment.
