Former Socialist Party MP Andis Harasani has passed away. He closed his eyes forever today at the age of 54.

Harasani passed away as a result of a serious illness, from which he had been suffering for 2 years. His passing was announced by his friend, Agim Muço, through a post on social media.

"A few minutes ago I was informed that Andis Harasani passed away after a serious illness. I knew Andis when I was a student at the Faculty of Economics. He was a truly intelligent student. We later worked together at Deloitte & Touche Tirana. He was a small but good guy." - writes the friend of the former SP MP.

Andis Harasani was elected MP twice, in the 2005 and 2009 elections, while from September 2002 to July 2005 he was the director of the Albanian Electric Power Corporation (KESH).

In 2012, he resigned from his mandate as an MP and moved to the US. However, he did not withdraw from public life, being present on social networks as a harsh critic of Rama and the Socialist Party.
