The first week of January came with high temperatures, typical of autumn, while the second week brought winter to the Albanian territory. The cold will be temporary anyway, meteorologists say.
Meteorologist Hakil Osmani says that in the following days there will be problems with frost in Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and Pogradec.
"This afternoon, the penetration of cold air masses originating from the north-northeast of Europe is expected, bringing an immediate drop in temperatures. From tomorrow onwards the weather will be clear, but cold. The rain that fell last night at night , were mainly focused in the north and northwest of the territory where there was respectively from 80 to 100 mm in the areas above Shkodra. In the southern areas there was approximately 50 mm of rain, while in the central areas there was approximately 30-40 mm of rain. .
The following hours bring a weakening of precipitation in most of the country, but the entire eastern area remains with snowfall, where it will be more concentrated in the southeast of the territory. The snow will last until tomorrow at noon, but in small amounts of 5 - 8 cm and over 10 cm in deep mountain areas.
Frost will also be a problem along the urban axes of the northeastern and southeastern areas, due to low temperatures during the evenings and mornings.
The situation is temporary, as this cold will stay in our country for 4-5 days, while the weekend will bring an increase in air temperatures, causing us to have positive temperatures in the mountainous areas," said Hakil Osmani. from Meteoalb for Tch,
