Residents of Baks-Rrjoll in Velipojë continue their protest today, strongly opposing the implementation of the project to build a tourist resort on their properties.

On February 6, residents forcibly stopped the company's employees from continuing the work, while clashes continued on Saturday, when police escorted some of the residents to the police station.

The legitimate landowners announce that they will not withdraw from the protests until the project is completely suspended.

The construction permit for the tourist resort in Baks-Rrjoll has been signed by Belinda Balluku, while investigations continue, even though the case is in court.

Residents are requesting a meeting with investor Bashkim Ulaj, while their condition is to suspend the works until an agreement is reached.

Among those whose property is being taken away are citizens from Kosovo, who stated that they purchased land in this area 25 years ago.

We recall that Bashkim Ulaj is also the largest beneficiary of public assets and money, over 3 billion euros, and is part of the compromising communications between Belinda Balluku and the former director of the ARRSH, Evis Berberi, where the mechanism of dividing tenders as a morsel and a bargain for Bashkim Ulaj comes to the fore.

Residents of Baks-Rrjoll warn that they will protest in front of the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office and have emphasized that their revolt will become more severe. In a live broadcast from Shkodra, journalist Denis Bajraktari reports on the development of the protests.

In a statement to the media, the citizens expressed that: " Four generations, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, that we are, brought us here. By order, sir, my grandfather left me here, my father left me here, I bought here myself, I had my great-grandchildren here. We call once again on the Albanian state, with a drop of saliva, to find out exactly where there could be a line and what heir he had there. But where there was, let it be written completely, as you can see for yourself what the world is doing. We call on the people and all state institutions to put their hand on their heart, not to let this people bleed. You have also seen what the police have been doing for two days now. We are spending more time in the police than on our lands. We call on the state to give us a solution, we call on this court to give us a solution. I thank you all with respect."

Another resident, Elena Pjeshka, told Syri TV that what is happening is an injustice.

She emphasizes: "My uncles, my father, my grandfather are alive. We want justice! Please, please. We came from England. I was as young as this girl when I took my father there to see our lands, and today they won't let us sit down there. We want justice! It's our right. Today we came from England, we are alive, we have experienced rain, snow, and storms here. And we want our blood! Nothing stops us. We didn't come just for August 15 to have a vacation and say that we are Albanians. Please, we want justice! That land is ours. My daughter is alive. My uncles are crying for their land. My father was on the ground, the ambulance took him away. My grandfather is eating his life out of boredom. There is no one, my father, grandfather, great-grandfather, four great-grandfathers left there. And today they tell us that the land is not ours. Who is he? We want justice! We want justice! We want justice! We want justice! Today we want answers! Today! Let the state answer me, I call on Edi Rama, the police... ".
