He was arrested at Rinas airport this Saturday afternoon by order of SPAK, while he was waiting for his wife, Argita Berisha from Germany.

The son-in-law of Sali Berisha is accused of money laundering, in connection with the privatization of the former Partizani complex.

The businessman Fatmir Bektashi was also arrested for the same issue.

In addition, SPAK has filed charges of corruption and money laundering against Sali Berisha. A security measure has been set for him, mandatory appearance and prohibition to leave the country.

Berisha himself, in an extraordinary press conference, called the accusations political. For Berisha, Jamarbër Malltezi's only fault is that he is his son-in-law. The former prime minister emphasized that Malltezi was never questioned on any matter.
