Fire in Gjirokaster

The fires have engulfed an apartment in the "Palorto" neighborhood of Gjirokastrës.

Firefighters were notified of the fire spotted in the chimney of the apartment. After locating the fireplace, they managed to extinguish the flames, preventing them from spreading to other parts of the house.

According to preliminary investigation, the fire started in the chimney, suspected of skorts collected over the years that had not been cleared.

Police and fire services are continuing checks at the scene. Fortunately, no serious damage or injuries are reported to people.
