After the dramatic minutes today in Kuçova, where the city cleaning worker, fired from her job for demanding her two-month delayed salary, attempted to sacrifice herself by jumping from a tall oxygen tower at the former Plant, she has come down, thus avoiding tragedy.

After negotiations with the local and municipal police, who promised her that she would return to work, she agreed to come down and was further accompanied by officers for questioning and standard procedures.

"He fired me because I asked for my salary. We had two and a half months. Now I don't know. We'll go to the mayor's office," she says shortly after coming down from the tower.

Elona Bregu, 40 years old, also fired from her job, today demonstratively climbed to the top of the oxygen tower at the former Kuçova Plant, attempting to jump and end her life.

Other dismissed employees also shared the reasons for this unusual protest.
