The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) postponed Ilir Meta's hearing to June 26.
The President of the PL requests a change in the security measure from "arrest in prison" to a more lenient measure.
Meanwhile, in a clarification, the Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, says that Meta will not participate in today's court session personally, but will be represented by his lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani.
Meta has been in custody since October 21, 2024, while his defense argues that procedural deadlines have been violated, as according to them SPAK has not submitted the periodic two-month notifications, provided for by law, for the extension of the security measure.
Lawyers are requesting that this situation be considered as a reason to replace the measure with a lighter form of security, such as "house arrest" or "compulsion to appear".
