Vox News has obtained a photo of Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, the 20-year-old Portuguese tourist who was stabbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday in Ksamil, following a conflict at the "Principote" bar.

The 20-year-old had arrived in Ksamil two days before the incident along with a group of French tourists and were planning to leave for Spain on August 26.

On the night of the serious incident, the young people were attending a party at "Principote", where several French DJs were performing. According to reports, after the jokes among the group, an argument started about the noise, and the conflict then moved to the beach.

According to police, Albanian-British citizen David Heurtevent punched Mendes, while security guard Sokrat Lipan, also known as Sokrat Vata, stabbed him. The 20-year-old died at the scene.

Vata claimed that the knife belonged to the victim and that during the conflict he took it from her hand before hitting her. This version is being examined by investigators.

After the incident, Vata was caught in Levan, hiding in the trunk of a Turkish couple's car, who were suspected of helping him flee towards Tirana.

David Heurtevent and the owner of the bar, Bekim Bulica, continue to be sought.

Four waiters and four people who acted as bodyguards, including a police officer, a prison officer and a municipal police officer, have been arrested because they allegedly failed to intervene to prevent the incident and failed to report the crime.

In total, 11 people were arrested for the incident.
