The Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, and the General Director of Civil Emergencies, Haki Çako, held an emergency meeting in the Lezha Prefecture following the bad weather situation.
At the end of the meeting, Vengu, in a statement to the media, stated that the Municipality of Kurbin is the most affected in the country in terms of the problems brought about by the bad weather.
"There are 50 affected homes in the Mamurras area and another 40 in Milot, which officially makes the Municipality of Kurbin the most affected municipality in the country," he said.
Vengu stated that authorities are also preparing for a second meteorological front expected in the coming hours.
He said that there are situations where interventions with bulldozers and excavators continue.
Additional teams of the Armed Forces have been deployed in the municipalities of the Lezha Region. A team in the municipality of Kurbin has been joined by a team of engineers who will assist local emergencies for three bridges that need to be rehabilitated.
The Minister emphasized that the goal is to have no blocked villages.
Vengu also stated that the situation in the Western Lowlands is being monitored to anticipate any problems.
