After the complaint, the carabinieri identified the perpetrator, who turned out to be the fugitive Albanian. After the arrest and according to the testimony of the Albanian himself, the attack arose from a misunderstanding:

"I mistook the young man for a law enforcement officer in plain clothes," he told investigators.

The court immediately ordered the replacement of the measure from house arrest to imprisonment and the investigations are still active.
