'Colombo' is the hotel worth 1 million euros confiscated today in Durrës. The hotel is in the name of Pëlumb Tuda, alias Pali Tuda, a name known to Albanian justice. Pali Tuda had turned his "Colombo" hotel in Durrës into a hotbed of prostitution, managing to generate a lot of income, which has led to the construction of two palaces in Durrës. A business that initially started as a "Bar-Cafe and Disco", registered on July 5, 2011, but suspended in 2015 and then in 2018, seems to have gone the best way to generate income, managing to raised a considerable financial capital in the city of Durra.
This wealth is suspected to come from criminal income, mainly in drug trafficking and exploitation of prostitution. For Pëllumb alias Pali Tuda, on October 22, 2015, the Durrës prosecutor's office launched an investigation for the charge of "Exploitation of prostitution" and "Intentional slight injury" against a girl with the initials MP
It was this citizen who accused Pëllumb Tuda of "exploitation of prostitution", where she and several other girls practiced prostitution together with him in the premises of his business "Colombo". As stated in the prosecutor's file, this proceeding was later dismissed by the Durrës prosecutor's office, as the girl who was used as a prostitute decided to withdraw her testimony, which wanted to exonerate Pëllumb Tuda, whom she was very afraid of.
It turns out that between 2003 and 2008, Pëllumb Tuda invested in two buildings in Durrës, worth almost 800 thousand euros, properties that are suspected to have been generated from financial profits of criminal activity. Currently, both of these properties have been seized by the police, while it is expected that the decision of the Durrës court will be appealed to the Court of Appeal. If this court decides to enforce the sequestration, then it is the Directorate of Criminal Assets Management that takes over these properties.
