The Purity and Image Commission has convened for the process of selecting the director of the National Bureau of Investigation.

The Commission consists of two SPAK prosecutors, Behar Dibra and Eneid Nakuçi, the President of the Appeals Court of the Kosovo Criminal Court Saida Dollani, and two BKH agents, part of the Commission. 

The 7 candidates have submitted the required documentation and approval to have their assets and reputations checked for themselves and their family members during this period. The 7 candidates will be drawn by lot to determine the rapporteur from the members of the Commission, who will deal with each of the candidates.

Meanwhile, on September 1, at 11:00, the High Prosecutorial Council has scheduled a meeting to determine the end of the mandate of Aida Hajnaj, who has held the position of director of the BKH for 5 years, and until the selection and submission of the name proposed by SPAK, the BKH will be led by the deputy director of this Bureau, Joni Keta, who is also a candidate to take over.

It is awaited with interest whether the KLP will vote en bloc for the name proposed by SPAK or will divide the votes to the liking of the Special Prosecution. We recall that this process has been accompanied by controversy both regarding the specific names of the candidates but also regarding the debates on whether or not to reappoint Aida Hajnaj for a second term.
