Any student suspected of carrying illegal items to school will be checked at the entrance gate by the school guard and security officer. This is one of the measures taken by the State Police to guarantee order and student safety.
The plan of measures will begin to be implemented on Monday, with the start of the new school year. Details were made public in a statement to the media by the Director of Public Order, Agron Çeli.
"Providing and exchanging information with the pedagogical staff and security officers in schools, about students who may be carrying illegal items with them and, based on them, conducting checks at the entrance gates by school security personnel and security officers, in the presence of teachers and under the supervision of police officers," said the director of public order, Agron Çeli.
Another point of the security package is the implementation of perimeters, especially for premises near schools.
"In cooperation with the State Health Inspectorate, the National Institute of Health and the local government, work will be done to close or remove commercial premises and mobile sales points that sell alcoholic beverages and expired food products near schools, which often serve as gathering points for citizens with criminal records, users of alcoholic beverages and narcotics, as well as a source of danger for disruption of public order or other violent actions against teaching staff and school students," he added.
Police leaders guaranteed that from the start of the learning process until the end, there will be an increase in the number of officers at the school to guarantee the safety of students and their parents.
Meanwhile, in those schools located near main roads, the Traffic Police will be on standby and continuous checks will be carried out on drivers of vehicles transporting students, including alcohol tests, technical inspection of vehicles and enforcement of their transportation rules.
