5 out of 11 Parliamentary Committees are being constituted today!

Today, at 09:00, the Conference of Mayors is expected to meet to review the DP's request for a motion with debate on the government's program for the next four years.

The request was made on September 26 by the head of the parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, after in the plenary session of September 18, the opposition did not allow the presentation of the program by Prime Minister Edi Rama, and as a result, the Socialists passed it for a vote within 25 minutes along with the new cabinet.

Then, from 10:00 onwards, the constitution of 5 of the 11 parliamentary committees is expected to take place after their composition was approved last week by the majority and the opposition.

At 10:00, the Committee on Europe and Foreign Affairs will be constituted. At 10:30, the Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration will be constituted. This Committee is expected to approve the 3-week work calendar for the period September 29 - October 17, 2025, as well as the annual reports of several constitutional bodies, those established by law, and subordinate institutions for their activities for the year 2024.

At 11:00, the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the Committee on Health and Social Welfare will be constituted. At 12:30, the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development will be constituted.

In the previous session, the opposition sent the names of the committee members to the Assembly, and joined the votes with the majority for their approval. The impasse arose because the opposition opposed the division of 7 (for the majority) and 4 (for the opposition) committees.
