Klodian Braho and Altin Dumani

The European Union Delegation in Tirana has reacted regarding the transfer of the position of SPAK director from Altin Dumani to Klodian Braho, a procedure that was finalized today.

In a reaction on social media, the EU office in Tirana, while wishing Braho success, also emphasized that the Special Prosecution Office has shown resilience to political pressures while led by Altin Dumani.

In a post on "X", the EU mission writes:

We congratulate Klodian Braho, who takes office today as the President of SPAK, and wish him every success in this important role. We also commend SPAK for its resilience in the face of political pressure and the determination and integrity shown by outgoing Chief Prosecutor Altin Dumani, under whose leadership SPAK achieved progress in the fight against high-level corruption and strengthened public trust in justice.

Fighting corruption and impunity, as well as upholding the rule of law, is a shared responsibility of all key institutions and a key aspect of Albania's path towards EU membership, supported by the overwhelming majority of Albanian citizens.

We call on all institutions to fulfill their respective roles, fulfill their responsibilities, and cooperate fully in ensuring accountability for the benefit of all citizens. We look forward to continuing to work with SPAK as we support Albania every step of the way towards the EU.
