Durrës police have arrested after five months a 36-year-old man who, together with three other people, took hostage and raped 48-year-old Denis Simaku.

The 36-year-old was caught by the Rinas Border Police services while attempting to leave the country.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Commissariat arrested citizen JK, 36 years old, resident of Durrës, after the Durrës Prosecution Office issued a detention order for the criminal offense of "Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty", committed in collaboration. This citizen is accused of having, in collaboration with 3 other citizens, on 01.07.2025, taken by force, in a vehicle, and raped a 48-year-old man. The 36-year-old was caught by the Rinas Border Police services, during his attempt to leave the Republic of Albania", the Police announced today.

According to the police, the cause of this situation was a conflict over a parking space between the 48-year-old and the father of three of the perpetrators, whom he had offended.
