As we approach the end-of-year holidays, the State Police has drafted a plan of measures for public order and security. Through an official announcement to the media, the blue uniforms inform that there will be an increase in uniformed police services and those of the Criminal Police in the territory, with the aim of guaranteeing public order and security, as well as preventing possible criminal incidents.

There will also be additional measures at border points during the entry/exit of citizens into the country's territory, by increasing counters and human resources at all border crossing points.

The police explain that at land points, mutual cooperation with counterparts will be intensified, with the aim of creating legal facilities, avoiding long lines and ensuring uniform movements on both sides of the border.

Road traffic will be monitored with intelligent speedometers, drones, and breathalyzers, as well as an increase in mobile Traffic Police patrols in all urban centers and urban and interurban road axes, with the aim of preventing road accidents and increasing road safety parameters.

Full announcement:

In order to fulfill these important objectives, as well as prevent incidents and criminal events, the General Directorate of the State Police has drafted a special plan of measures, with well-defined tasks for each local and central police structure.

The measures consist of:

-increasing the presence of uniformed police services and Criminal Police in the territory, with the aim of guaranteeing public order and security, as well as preventing possible criminal events;

-management and provision of services at BCPs during the entry/exit of citizens into the country's territory, by increasing counters and human resources at all border crossing points. At land points, mutual cooperation with counterparts will be intensified, with the aim of creating legal facilities, avoiding long queues and ensuring uniform movements on both sides of the border;

-increasing control at border crossing points and increasing patrols at the green border, with the aim of preventing and combating border crimes;

(In this context, we clarify that the public statement made by the head of the Police Employees Union, Sadetin Fishta, that Police employees have orders to complete as many administrative measures as possible, since if they do not complete the required number they are threatened with transfers or demotion, is completely untrue. We emphasize to citizens and public opinion that there is no such order to complete a certain number of administrative measures.

Administrative measures, such as awareness campaigns and advisory measures, are tools used against violators of road traffic rules and have the sole objective of ensuring road safety and preventing accidents.

-cooperation with local government bodies and leaders of religious institutions for the smooth running of festive ceremonies for Christmas and New Year, as well as coordination of actions with the Municipal Police in the regions;

-increasing the presence of Police services on promenades, pedestrian areas, places of worship and public squares, in all municipalities of the country, to guarantee the smooth running of celebrations during Christmas Eve and during the turn of the year;

-increasing measures to maintain order and security in various environments, restaurants, bars and shopping centers that have a high frequency of citizens, in order to prevent conflicts and criminal incidents;

- timely provision of information for the prevention of criminal events, as well as for the capture of persons wanted for criminal events and their criminal liability;

-intensifying controls on entities that trade in pyrotechnic substances (fireworks, capsules), in cooperation with Fire Protection and Rescue structures and other law enforcement structures;

-increasing preparedness and increasing police services in banks, currency exchange offices, shopping centers, various markets and other facilities where monetary and material values ??are administered;

-cooperation with private physical security services (SHPSF), to strengthen security measures of facilities, as well as during the escort and transportation of monetary values.

Meanwhile, the services of the National Security Force, the Directorate of the Special Operational Force and the RENEA Special Unit will be on standby to intervene at any time, should it be necessary.

The State Police is fully committed to creating a safe environment for all citizens and, in this context, invites them to cooperate with the Police services, by reporting any case of illegality or indication of conflicts, during the festive days and nights, to the toll-free number 112.
