Cancer on the rise in Albania, renowned doctor reveals Russian
Professor Margarita Ifti

Three out of a thousand Albanians are affected by cancer each year. The data was announced by Professor Margarita Ifti, on A2 CNN, according to whom the number of cancer cases in the world is increasing and is expected to reach 30 million in 2040.

"The number of cancer cases has been increasing, although in the last decade there has been a kind of stabilization. In 2022 there were 20 million new cancer cases in the world, in 2040 30 million are expected. The vanguard is held by developed countries, where in the USA the percentage of cases is 6%, that is, 6 people in 1,000 die from cancer per year, the same in the EU. Russia has 4 in 1,000, China 3.4 in 1,000 and Albania has 3 in 1,000 affected by cancer per year."

According to her, the main factors behind the increase in cases are; increased life expectancy, increased pollution, diet, lifestyle, and many other factors.

Faced with this situation, a solution comes from Russia, which has to do with personalized immunotherapy, which will be applied from January 2025 and will be free in Russian hospitals. The physician emphasizes that there are several countries that are working on immunotherapies.

"The latest step in the field of progress, that in addition to 3 methods; surgery, radiology and chemotherapy, there is more and more talk about immunotherapy. This is personalized, divided into two groups. Health systems that are provided free of charge by the state in Britain. In India, immunotherapy has been used for a year and a half for uterine cancer, but they left it there. In France, efforts are being made for personalized immunotherapy because it is provided free of charge by the state. In the US, there are pharmaceutical companies that are trying to find a non-personalized immunotherapy, but for a given cancer. Melanoma in this specific case, but this is a very difficult task. Personalized immunotherapy is therapy for a cancer that a patient has. This was the news that came to us from Russia and will be applied on January 1, 2025 in Russian hospitals."

From the tests so far, the doctor said that this vaccine has been successful. According to her, this immunotherapy also clears metastases and prevents them from spreading to other organs.

"A sample is taken for each patient and in the end, after a few days, the vial of vaccine that is for that patient goes to the oncology institute. And this costs the Russian state 3 thousand dollars. This therapy is expected to cure but not prevent it. It is used alongside them; surgery, radiology and chemotherapy. Based on the results, it has been noted that in cases of colon cancer, which is the most deadly, a 75% reduction has been observed in the third phase of the clinical phase. So far, in combination with the present techniques, this immunotherapy also clears metastases and does not allow them to spread to other organs. You are immune to this type of cancer forever. This cures and makes you immune"
