Burbuqe Bakalli, a renowned Kosovo lawyer who faced cancer four times during her life, has passed away at the age of 61.

She became a motivation for all those facing serious illness. The bitter news of her passing was given by the former president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga.

In 2017, Burbuqe Bakalli faced cancer for the first time, having to undergo three difficult surgeries.

However, the serious illness never took away the smile from his face, nor his initiative to help many Albanian immigrants in Great Britain, where he had lived for years.

"Bukje, oh white soul, rest in peace. We will always remember you smiling and for all the sincere love you shared with everyone we met. We will miss you very much," Jahjaga wrote on social media.
