"You were a good judge" - Klodian Braho responds to Gjin Gjoni: What

During today's meeting at the Electoral Reform Commission, where the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, was also present, there was a discussion on the institution's work during last year's elections and the functioning of the task force established to crack down on cases of electoral corruption.

During the session, the deputies requested clarifications on the concrete results of the complaints made, raising concerns that in some cases there had been no investigative developments. On the other hand, the head of SPAK emphasized that some of the complaints had no evidentiary basis and were not within the investigative powers of the institution.

In response to the questions and positions of the Democratic Party deputies, as well as the former judge and now opposition deputy, Gjin Gjoni, Braho brought an example and asked the latter how he would have reacted if he had still been on duty in the black platoons.

"If I were to come and say that I heard that 600 thousand euros were paid for elections, would you consider that evidence to accuse someone?" he said, emphasizing that decision-making cannot be based on perceptions or "rumors", but on concrete evidence.

Klodian Braho:  You have worked as a judge yourself and I think you were a good judge. If I were to come to your hearing and say that I heard that 600 thousand euros were paid for elections in this district, would you accept it as evidence to accuse someone else?

Of course, there is talk, there may be perceptions, opinions, but the prosecutor's decision-making must be based on where the evidence exists.

We understand that such a perception also has very high expectations for SPAK, but investigations begin where the evidence is.
