Another Economic Crime operation has uncovered a fraud case where the main suspect is Florian Gjergji. The young man from Shkodra, who is suspected of currently being in Germany, has managed to defraud a money changer in Durrës.

According to the investigation, Gjergji introduced himself to the money changer through text messages as the cousin of a well-known businessman. Taking advantage of the fact that the money changer knew the businessman's family, he gained his trust and asked for 60 thousand euros. The money changer was then instructed to deliver the amount to a person near the TEG shopping center in Tirana.

After receiving the money, this person left for Elbasan, where he met another person who had arrived by taxi from a rural area. After handing over the amount, the second person immediately left. The two people involved in the money-laundering scheme were identified and arrested by the police. During their testimonies, they initially stated that they were contacted and directed by Florian Gjergji.

The fraud was discovered thanks to the reaction of the money changer himself. After handing over the 60 thousand euros, he contacted his friend to confirm that he had completed the order. Only at that moment did he learn that the person in question had not asked him for any amount of money, realizing that he had fallen prey to a fraud scheme.
