Serial thief caught on Durres beach

Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, who had become a nightmare for residents and vacationers in the beach area of Durres.

Although he was wanted for previous thefts, he continued his criminal activity, and so far 5 of his thefts have been documented in this area.

He is suspected of being the perpetrator of thefts of large amounts of money and accessories from vacationers' vehicles, motorcycles, and valuables from homes.

According to the police announcement, thanks to information provided by cameras and other evidence during the investigation, the police operation codenamed "Pamjet" was finalized, within which citizen Gentian Llana, 40 years old, resident of Durrës, was identified, captured and arrested.


Llana, meanwhile, was wanted for several other thefts that had previously occurred in the city of Durrës, and as material evidence, the police seized the tools he used to commit the thefts.

" The police operation codenamed "Pamjet" is being finalized to solve the thefts that occurred previously.

Following the successive operations conducted by the Durrës Police Commissariat, with the aim of uncovering and documenting with legal evidence the authorship of the previous thefts, as well as based on the information obtained from the examination of cameras and other evidence obtained during the investigation, the police operation codenamed "Pamjet" was finalized.

As part of the operation, based on the evidence obtained, it was possible to identify, capture and arrest citizen G. Ll., 40 years old, resident of Durrës (wanted for several other thefts that occurred previously).

From the investigations carried out and from the analysis of the video footage, it results that this citizen is the author of 5 thefts that occurred in neighborhoods no. 12 and no. 17, where he stole amounts of money in euros, accessories and valuables from vehicles, stole motorcycles, and stole valuables from apartments.

The 40-year-old was wanted, suspected of several previous burglaries in apartments in several neighborhoods of the city of Durrës.

The tools that this citizen used to commit theft were seized as material evidence.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, work continues on the complete legal documentation of this citizen's criminal activity in the field of property theft.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action, for the criminal offense of "Theft, committed more than once".
