The General Directorate of Customs dismissed yesterday the director of Fier Customs, Arlind Lagji. This decision comes after the denunciation of the citizen Algert Belulaj, who stated that Lagji raped him and threatened him with his life.

The director of Fier Customs, Arlind Lagji, has been accused by a citizen of having raped and threatened his life, after taking his wife as a lover. The threats have come even after the denunciations to the relevant bodies.

Today, Algert Belulaj has given his version on Top Channel, where he says that the conflict started on August 11, 2021, when he was called to the Fier police station for a protection order for his wife, to whom he demanded an account for adultery.

"The moment I went to the police station, Arlind Lagji lowered his head and ran away," said Belulaj. Asked why the protection order was requested by his ex-wife, he said:

"It was requested because my wife at the time wanted time for herself and Arlind Lagjin. Since he was caught in the act with her, it was more than obvious that there was more than an acquaintance. Lagji did this with other employees as well. He took charming workers to the office."

While talking about the violence against him and the threats to his life, Belulaj said: "This happened after I managed to prove the betrayal. Sexual needs, maybe he was unfulfilled where he was. A man who has a family cannot do that. He introduced himself to me as a divorcee."

Your ex-spouse claims that you have been separated since 2020. When did this happen, were you still together?

"I have proven them with messages that were received as evidence. I was with him until June 2021. When I refused to clarify with her, she continued to be with me until August 2021," he said.

Asked if they were living together at that time and who requested the divorce, Belulaj said: "The moment my family made it clear to her that she was no longer entering that house, she left. I left the divorce as she wanted, for 'incompatibility of character'".

According to him, the violence started because it was a trap. "They asked me for a coffee, he didn't accept the relationship. I have her as my daughter, he said, as he was close to his daughter's age. He told me that I have you as a brother. It caught me by surprise violently. If I had known, I would have left the meeting in a public place with people. He also threatened my 6-year-old daughter, I also have the message, which is also used as evidence", added Belulaj.
