For several weeks, several palaces built during the dictatorship in Saranda have been undergoing façade restoration.
The restoration has started from the palaces located in the Hill neighborhood, near the home of former mayor Adrian Gurma.
Today one of the palaces is finished, and the facade has left not a few citizens surprised. The palaces are painted white with blue stripes, a picture that brings to mind the flag of the neighbouring state of Greece.
This is actually an old promise of former mayor Gurma, who rolled it out in 2020 during a television interview.
"When you come from the sea from Corfu you see that there are many colors. I think you've done this way many times, you've seen that there are many colors. We want to unify it, we have a project that is all white and to be accompanied by the blue windows of the sea," Gurma said at the time.
Gurma was not run by the SP in the May 14 elections and gave up the seat to Oltion Caci.
