In the 54th protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, among the participants was the famous former Albanian footballer Halit Gega.
"Good evening brothers and sisters. I am Halit Gega, former footballer, rebel since I was born. I am proud of where my roots are, I am from the Gjakova Highlands," he said to the protesters.
Speaking about Prime Minister Rama, Gega made a distinction between him and the Prime Minister's father, Kristaq Rama.
"This is Kristaq Rama's son, Kristaq Rama was not a bad man. The one who is the prime minister was born in '64. This is a vile man, if I were like him, I would have given my life instead," he declared.
Gega continued his speech by accusing Rama of past political positions and calling him "disloyal."
"I am an Albanian, you traitor, who surpasses even Ramiz Ali. You surpass even Enver Hoxha. I am an Albanian and I die for Albania," said the former footballer.
Halit Gega is one of the well-known figures of Albanian football over the years, while his participation in the protest was accompanied by applause from some of the protesters present.
