Cocaine trafficking from South America/ Court in Italy sentences clan linked to
Suel Cela

The Brescia Court sentenced 15 members of the " Çela" clan , including the brothers from Elbasan , Shkëlqim and  Gerardo Pashja, to a total of 100 years in prison .

During the summary trial, the Pashas were sentenced to a total of 29 years in prison.

According to investigations, the Albanian clan linked to Suel Çela had set up a drug trafficking base in Brescia.

Collaborators in the transportation and storage of drugs were 45-year-old Simone Paolisso, 57-year-old Roberto Gottardi and 38-year-old Fabrizio Manza.

Another local resident, Marco Morandi, maintained connections to the highest levels of the organization.

From the drugs sold at retail outlets in the Lake Garda, Verona and Brescia areas, investigators managed to reconstruct the drug trafficking routes.

In November 2021, one of the convicted Italians was stopped in Verona with 250 kilograms of still unmixed cocaine which was destined for the organization's base in Brescia.

From the analysis of Sky ECC communications, the Italian side and SPAK discovered that the leaders of the Çela clan from Elbasan were moving to different countries around the world, towards Colombia and Ecuador to meet cocaine producers in South America, but also in the United Arab Emirates and Dubai.

Shipments of pure cocaine arrived at ports in Belgium and the Netherlands, where the organization had collaborators. They were then loaded onto trucks and transported to rented warehouses in Brescia.

After arriving in Brescia, the drugs, which at that stage had a wholesale value of 40 thousand euros per kilogram, were distributed to smaller organizations in various cities in northern Italy. The drug proceeds were sent to Albania by buses on the Brescia-Elbasan route.

Genti Berisha, who on June 23 fatally injured a police officer from Milan while he was chasing him, was also sentenced to 8 years in prison.

At the prosecutor's office, Berisha, part of the Cela clan, stated that he had not stopped the officer because he had hashish with him.
