The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency has arrested an Albanian in the United States of America, with the aim of deporting him.
Gjin Kolbucaj had just been released from prison where he served a 20-year sentence for the murder of his wife Lulja Kolbucaj 20 years ago in Michigan.
The serious incident occurred in 2006. The couple also had two children, American citizens, a 9-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter.
"ICE Detroit arrested him after his release from the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility in Ionia and will initiate deportation proceedings," the ICE statement said.
American media reports on the event state that Kolbucaj had a history of rape against his wife.
Court documents show that immediately after killing his wife, on March 31, 2006, Kolbucaj shot himself twice in the chest, but survived.
He attempted to commit suicide again in prison. Two years later, he received a final sentence of 18 years.
