A woman and her ten-year-old daughter lived nightmares on New Year's Eve when her Albanian husband, who had illegally entered Greece, went to her apartment.

He broke the windows to enter the house through the window and when he couldn't, he damaged the parked cars.

The 45-year-old was arrested and appeared in court yesterday without a lawyer, claiming that his legal representative was in Larisa. The Albanian requested a postponement of the trial, but the request was rejected.

According to his ex-wife, the 45-year-old went to her apartment on New Year's Eve. According to her testimony, he had consumed a large amount of alcohol and broke the windows, terrifying their 10-year-old daughter.

When she asked him to leave, the defendant got into his car and crashed into two parked vehicles, causing damage.

When found by police authorities, the 45-year-old resisted arrest and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.

The accused apologized in court and admitted that he had consumed alcohol before going to his ex-wife's house. He also admitted that he had entered Greece illegally on foot, about 20 days earlier.

The reason he caused damage to his child's mother's house, according to him, was that he wanted to celebrate their daughter's birthday with them, but she wouldn't let him.

The court found the 45-year-old guilty of illegal entry into the country, domestic violence, violence against employees and refusal to submit to an alcohol test, sentencing him to 18 months in prison, a 3,700 euro fine and the revocation of his driving license for two months.
