Ilir Meta remains in prison, the Supreme Court rejects the appeal to change the security measure

Former president and leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, will continue to remain in prison.

The Supreme Court rejected his request for a change in the security measure this Thursday.

"Criminal Court No. 61007-00535-00-2025 ILIR METAJ Article 246/6 and 260 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Rejection of the appeal of the applicant/defendant Ilir Metaj, against decision no. 165 (87-2025-253), dated 17.07.2025 of the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime", states the Court's decision.
