Businessman Sokol Meqemeja, who was declared wanted a few days ago on suspicion of illegally building a TPP, has been released after verifications that dismissed the charges against him. The police, after an on-site inspection, confirmed that the facility in question was not a TPP, as initially suspected, but a gas purification plant, an integral part of active natural gas extraction wells.

In the testimony given at the police station, the businessman stated:

"It was a misunderstanding fueled by malicious information. The plant is an integral part of the gas filtration process and has nothing to do with energy production."

He also stated that all legal, technical and environmental documents are in order and that the construction of the plant was carried out with the full knowledge of the relevant authorities.

According to him, the people who raised the alarm wanted to damage his image and create a media storm on a completely false basis.
