At least five former RTSH employees say they were called to the Tirana Police in the last two days, where they were questioned and their mobile phones were checked.
All this because of a report for "image damage" made to the General Director of Albanian Radio and Television, Alfred Peza.
Journalists have expressed their concerns to the Association of Journalists of Albania, which has reacted very alarmed to the actions of Peza and the State Police by making the denunciation public, but without publishing the names of the former employees, as they have decided to stay anonymous for now.
"The questioning of the employees and the control of their mobile devices is a serious act aimed at intimidating, intimidating and silencing them under the background when the latter have openly spoken about the massive and unfair dismissal of Alfred Peza." - writes AGSH, since of others in the official response, which you can find here, urgently asks the State Police to stop this practice, which it considers abusive.
AGSH also calls on Peza to withdraw immediately from these practices aimed at intimidating former dismissed employees, warning that international partner organizations will also be notified. Currently, there is still no reaction from director Peza regarding this issue.
It seems that the checking and seizing of journalists' mobile phones has already been done by the law enforcement forces, starting with Elton Qyno, whose house, vehicle and workplace at "Ora News" were taken after a report, taking could be: Papers, computers, phones, disks, usb, children's games, internet antenna, car key, etc.
