A 22-year-old Albanian has lost his life in a tragic accident in Brianza, Italy, as it is suspected in advance that the cause was a speed race between "supercars", of which the young Albanian was also a part.
The victim has been identified as Arnold Selishta, 22 years old, a resident of Limbiate, who was traveling as a passenger in the SUV that had an accident. The car overturned several times, until it caught fire, along Monza-Saronno. The 22-year-old was brought out alive by the firemen, but in a very serious condition. He died shortly afterwards at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza.
With him were two other very young people who were injured. Investigators investigate the hypothesis of a high-speed race between two supercars, a Range Rover versus a BMW, before losing control at a roundabout.
The carabinieri took a 23-year-old man, who was the driver of the car and who was going to leave after the collision, to the barracks in Limbiate. The boys' cell phones will be analyzed and the presence of alcohol or drugs in the blood will be checked.
There are still many points to clarify the dynamics of the accident. The investigations are being carried out by the carabinieri of the Desio company (Monza), coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Milan, who have already listened to all the young people on board the two cars and have taken the footage from the video surveillance cameras of the journey made by the two groups of young people, who before the accident had been in a club in Nova Milanese.
They got into the car. Arnold with a 23-year-old son and an 18-year-old son. From there, at Monza-Saronno, a straight stretch of several kilometers, the two crews would begin the speed challenge. Before a major roundabout, near Limbiate, the driver of the Range Rover hit the roundabout in the middle, which acted as a springboard, throwing the car into the air, then spun on the tarmac several times before crashing into the railway.
A dynamic similar to that seen in an American video posted a few years ago on Facebook by Arnold, who had a passion for fast cars. Help arrived in a few minutes, the ambulance and the fire brigade. The 18-year-old and the 23-year-old suspected of driving the vehicle managed to get out of the car by themselves. The first was taken to the Niguarda hospital in Milan, while the second refused to be transported.
On the other hand, Arnold was pulled out of the crashed car by the firefighters. For him, the rush to the hospital in Monza was in vain. He died shortly after entering the San Gerardo Emergency Department. The investigations will clarify the responsibilities of the 23-year-old, who, if he was driving, risks being accused of road homicide. The positions of all other young people are also being considered.
