At the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Korça, among hundreds of believers, the Enthronement ceremony of the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace Anastas, was held.
Also present at the ceremony was His Beatitude, Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, Joan.
In his speech, Bishop Joan praised the contribution of the new Metropolitan of Korça:
“You are called to be not only a capable administrator, but above all a spiritual guide, a comforter and a living witness to the presence of Christ. You are called to be a light that illuminates the darkness, a voice that proclaims the truth, a living testimony that Christ is alive. Together we will continue the sacred tradition entrusted to us. May the Metropolis flourish under your leadership. May it become a center of spiritual radiance for our entire country and a model for the Orthodox world. I wish you a long and fruitful life in the blessed vineyard of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Archbishop Joan praised Korça as the city where he served for many years as Metropolitan, describing it as the cultural center of Albania, a cradle of education and spiritual endurance.
"Korça, the city that is the cultural capital of Albania, the cradle of national education and spiritual resilience, where the National Renaissance was born and the first Albanian school was opened, has given much to our nation and has faced great challenges."
The Metropolitan of Korça, Anastasius, in his speech emphasized the importance of strengthening faith in Jesus Christ in conditions when society faces difficult challenges:
"I am not here to start over, but to continue a story that has deep roots. I am here to write a new chapter in the long book of faith and love that this Metropolis has engraved in the language and life of our people."
The ceremony was attended by Korça deputies, local authorities and heads of institutions.
