Renowned professor and lawyer Joana Qeleshi has been elected head of the Albanian Criminal Lawyers Association.

Qeleshi replaces Saimir Vishaj in this position.

With a long and distinguished career in the field of jurisprudence, Qeleshi will be the leading voice of criminal lawyers in Albania.

She previously served as the Chief Judge of the Court of Durrës, then switched to the profession of lawyer, and currently holds the position of Professor of Criminal Procedure at the Faculty of Law.

In 2019, she resigned from the position of President of the Court of Durrës, a position she had held since July 2013, without undergoing the vetting process.
