Acute children's hepatitis arrives at border, Greece confirms first case

Greece has confirmed the first case of acute hepatitis in children. It's about a 14-month-old child from Heraklio to Crete.

Acute hepatitis spread to 12 states around the world continues to remain mysterious as long as its origin has not been determined.

The causes of acute hepatitis are still unheard of, but scientists have noticed that about 80 percent of sick children had tested positive for adinovirus, a virus that usually causes fever, diarrhea and vomiting, but no serious consequences as in this case.

One of the causes may refer to pandemics. Not direct coronavirus, but anti-pandemic measures. More specifically, numerous quarantines and the use of masks have markedly lowered the immunity of some of the children, mostly young ones who have not long faced viruses.

It is not also excluded that we are dealing with an adenovirus mutation, or a combination of these two hypotheses, i.e. a variant of adenovirus that strikes children with immunity to decrease, causing aggressive hepatitis, which usually does not affect children of that age.

Meanwhile, authorities in Albania have not registered any case so far with this aggressive form of hepatitis.
