The director of the National Food Authority in Lezhë, Besmir Froku, has ruled out any possibility of food poisoning for the 12 vacationers from Kosovo who stayed in a hotel in Shengjin.

During his speech to the media, Frroku says that as soon as he found out the case, AKU opened a full and in-depth inspection procedure.

Besmir Frroku: Yesterday, we were informed unofficially about a suspicion of 12 people who had gone to get medical treatment in the Lezha hospital emergency room. Immediately, as soon as we were made aware, we opened a full in-depth inspection procedure and requested the cooperation of the Food Crime Investigation Sector. We opened an authorization with a team of 5 people and immediately went to the subject.

As soon as we went there, we found that there were 2 other institutions, the Health Inspectorate and the Local Health Care Unit, which are doing their inspection procedures. We have started a detailed check from the documentation, from the condition of the kitchen and everything else related to the food investigation. We asked for samples to be taken for analysis, which we have sent.

The entity makes the products immediately and also serves them immediately. Those that we have found conditions, we have taken them for analysis. From the information we have, the intoxication, or what was suspected, is not related to food at all. We as AKU are constantly on the ground. This business was checked periodically since it is the entity that operates throughout the year. We have not found any problems or violations, the conditions were good and the refrigerators maintained the cooling parameters. We rule out any suspicion of food poisoning.

Klan News reports that the vacationers were suspected of being poisoned by a mosquito-repellent pesticide. They were taken to the hospital where they received the necessary medical assistance.

The doctor said that the patients had symptoms of poisoning, but were not in a serious condition. After receiving first aid in the emergency room, they left the hospital
