Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center, where the day hospital was opened inside this center.
This will be the first structure of its kind in Albania on an area of 3,500 square meters, which will provide health services for 65,000 patients with chronic diseases, but also others who will need therapy and continuous monitoring. by doctors.
During the visit, Rama congratulated the doctors for their work, but there was also criticism.
"If you can invent a vaccine for the patient neglect virus, that would be even better. Because I, who know the system, know very well that the vast majority of doctors are super, but a few individuals who are unvaccinated with the norms of education and ethics at work are enough to destroy the image of everyone and reject the common work we are doing ", said the prime minister.
"I tell you all who go to the central hospital, that there you are abroad. Those who don't believe it say "Renaissance propaganda"... What can I say? ", Rama added.
While accompanying Rama, the Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, said that the objective of QSUT is to perform a kidney transplant there, as there are over 200 patients who need this operation.
Minister Koçiu explained that the day hospital will offer services to all patients who need outpatient consultations, which means it is not a service that requires hospitalization beyond 24 hours. There are 60 beds and over 50 doctors who will provide service in this dedicated facility.
"This is how we limit the flow of movements in the central hospital ," said the minister.
