A German tourist was injured after colliding with a dinghy today on the beach of Gjipe.

Police say the 46-year-old German was diving outside the security perimeter. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police notification:

Today, around 13:40, on the beach of Gjipe, it is suspected that the citizen KV, 27 years old, resident of Orikum, driving a dinghy with regular documentation, outside the safety zone and at a significant distance from the corks that limit the swimming area, has damaged, while he was diving in the vicinity of the vessel, citizen DS, 46 years old, resident in Germany.

The Border Police Services of SPK Dhërmi, immediately after receiving the notification, intervened by giving first aid to the injured person and then organized his immediate transportation to the hospital for medical assistance.

Also, the Police services escorted the driver of the vessel, citizen KV, to the Dhermi Police Station, as well as other persons who were witnesses to this event.

The work of the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to clarify and fully document this event.
