Europol has provided details about a criminal network in the field of human trafficking, where girls from Latin America, mainly from Colombia, are recruited for prostitution.

Europol explains that on October 1, 2025, simultaneous raids were carried out in Albania and Colombia, during which: 16 house searches were carried out (7 in Albania and 9 in Colombia); 17 arrests (7 in Albania and 10 in Colombia); Identification of 54 victims from South America (44 in Albania, 5 in Croatia and 5 in Colombia).

The criminal network, composed mainly of Colombian nationals, recruited and transported vulnerable women from Colombia to European countries, where they were forced to be sexually exploited in Albania, Croatia, and other countries.

Investigations revealed a highly organized structure, with separate roles in the recruitment, transportation, and exploitation of victims.

Sexual services were advertised on online sites, while payments and negotiations were carried out by call center operators, depriving victims of control over their lives.

Half of the illegal profits were processed through sophisticated money laundering methods by the main organizer.
