Criminal proceedings are underway against Sonila Dhëmbi, the mother of the 13-year-old girl who jumped from the third floor of a building in the city of Korça yesterday.

Sources close to the investigation group indicate that criminal proceedings have been initiated on the charge of "causing suicide", as the investigation has revealed that the minor's mother caused psychological problems for her daughter.

The 13-year-old has been taken to a center in the capital to receive medical treatment and psychological care, but her life is not in danger.

After the incident, the girl's mother reported that her daughter had jumped from a height due to bullying by her friends.

"My husband is in prison for domestic violence, I have four children. I came home from Barmashi i Kolonjës, in neighborhood 14 in Korça. My eldest daughter was beaten, as was my second daughter. The bullying is increasing. Two days ago, a girl hit my maid on the back. I told the one who hit me not to bother my daughters. Today he went to hit my maid again. He hit me in the stomach and they took me to the police. When I was at the police station, the maid jumped from the third floor. She jumped because the children in the neighborhood were making fun of her, telling her to "take your mother to the police, you are villagers". Take measures because they don't leave me alone", said the mother of the minor girl.

Mental health doctor Nikolina Bode has revealed that the girl who jumped from the third floor of a building in the city of Korça on Saturday afternoon says she will do it again.

"She is not afraid of losing her life and uses it as a threat that if the event is repeated, she will do it again. It is the first time, we have had cases of suicide in children where the case remains the same, family upbringing and facing the social element. Family reasons are major. What is a problem in this situation is the suicide attempt, but also the purpose of this attempt and the determination without feeling fear and remorse. The first is the mother herself, who is in close contact with her children, there are three others who have been observers of this situation and this model is scary that is seen by the other children. They are taken as models in the close family circle, they watch and react without any criticism, giving their sister the right for this action. They do not want to lose their sister, but they give her the right in relation to the situation", says the doctor. 

"The girl says that I love the neighborhood and the neighborhood loves me, but for small conflicts, the adults come into play and the police report from the mother makes me carry out this action. It is a banal action that has not been properly resolved by the adults," adds Dr. Nikolina Bode.
