The high court will decide on July 25 about the fate of the mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, who is in prison for buying and selling votes.

Beleri, through his defense lawyers, requests a lighter measure of security than that of arrest, the request will be examined by judge Sandër Simoni.

Earlier, the Special Courts, the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal dismissed the requests of the mayor elected on May 14 while he was in custody.

Fredi Beleri was arrested on charges of vote buying two days before the May 14 local elections.
