Two officials of IKMT in Berat have been arrested for the crimes "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions". The Court of First Instance in Berat has issued a security measure of arrest and imprisonment against two inspectors of the Environment and Forests at the IKMT.

The decision comes after a two-year investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Berat. The police announce that from the actions taken during the investigation, it is suspected that these citizens, by actions or inactions, have favored different citizens and subjects to exercise their activities in violation of the law.

2 security measures "Arrest in prison" are executed, assigned to 2 citizens who exercised public functions, for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic-Financial Crimes, after a 2-year investigation with proactive methods, at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Berat, for the crackdown on illegalities committed by persons exercising public functions, have executed 2 security measures "Arrest in prison", assigned by the Court of First Instance of Berat General Jurisdiction, to the citizens:

- EB, 40 years old, resident in Tirana, with the duty of Inspector of Environment and Forests at IKMT Berat, as he is suspected of having consumed elements of the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons performing public functions;

-AD, 50 years old, resident in Tirana, with the duty of Inspector of Environment and Forests at IKMT Berat, as he is suspected of having consumed elements of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty".

From the actions carried out during the investigation period, it is suspected that these citizens, by actions or inactions, have favored different citizens and subjects to exercise their activities in violation of the law.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Berat General Jurisdiction, for further action./abcnews.al
