Hysni and Lumturie Patushi

What happened inside the apartment where Lumturie Patushi lost her life has been recounted by the person who saw everything with his own eyes.

The 14-year-old nephew, who was in the apartment with his 8-year-old brother, told investigators the last moments before his grandmother was stabbed to death by her husband, Hysni Patushi.

According to his testimony, on Saturday morning, the 68-year-old went to his daughter's apartment, where his wife was taking care of their two grandchildren.

As soon as he entered the apartment, an argument broke out between the couple. The two children were there and saw everything.

"My grandfather came home. He started arguing with my grandmother and then stabbed her," the 14-year-old told investigators, briefly describing the crime scene that happened before his eyes very quickly.

After hitting his wife, Hysni Patushi immediately left the apartment. Only the two children and their grandmother remained inside. It was the 14-year-old who called the police for help.

When the police arrived at the apartment, the 58-year-old woman had passed away, while the two grandchildren were still in the apartment, shocked by what they had seen. 'Grandma is dead,' the 14-year-old told them.

Meanwhile, the 68-year-old had fled the scene of the crime on foot. During his escape, he also threw the knife used in the murder about 200 meters from the palace. The weapon was found and seized by the police, while Patushi himself was arrested a few hours later at a cousin's apartment in Kamza.

In his testimony before investigators, Hysni Patushi tried to explain the conflict with his wife.

He said that he had been arguing with her for a long time, because, according to him, she spent more time at the girl's house than at their apartment in Don Bosco.

On the day of the incident, he claims he called her and she told him she was at TEG. When he went to the girl's apartment and found her there, an argument broke out between them.

"During the argument, I stabbed him in the heart," he is quoted as saying to investigators.

The couple lived in the Don Bosco area, but often went to the girl's apartment to take care of their two grandchildren.

It was there that the crime that took the 58-year-old's life took place. Hysni Patushi is expected to appear in court for a security measure on the charge of "murder due to family relations."

He was not unknown to the police, as he had been arrested for domestic violence in 2017, he said.
