The conference aims to serve as a forum for strengthening cooperation between law enforcement agencies, exchanging information and expertise, and discussing new methods for tackling organized crime and security threats.

The official opening of the activity is scheduled for September 21st.

The agenda includes senior leaders of Albanian and American institutions, including the Assistant Deputy Director at FBI Headquarters, Spencer Horn, FBI Law Enforcement Attaché at the US Legation in Sofia, Brendan Collins, as well as representatives of the State Police, SPAK, BKH and the General Prosecutor's Office. The International President of FBINAA, Jim Gallagher, is also expected to be part of the activity.

Part of the discussions will be dedicated to new forms of criminal activity and the use of technology by criminal groups.

Stephanie Stevens, FBI Assistant Law Enforcement Attaché in Berlin, will present on the investigation of encrypted communication networks used by criminal organizations.

The focus will also be on the online group “764”, which US authorities have linked to forms of violent extremism and criminal activities on the internet. Another topic of the program is the management of seized and confiscated assets and the possibility of their use for public purposes.

The conference will also address the importance of financial intelligence in combating criminal structures, while participants will also be introduced to concrete investigative cases conducted in Albania.

One of them is related to investigations in the field of narcotics and will be presented by the investigator of the National Bureau of Investigation, Eduart Kaloshi.

The agenda also includes presentations on another successful BKH investigation, as well as discussions on recent developments in criminal groups and how law enforcement structures are responding to these phenomena.

Albanian representatives of EUROPOL will also participate in the activity, with a focus on new criminal trends and strengthening international coordination.

The meeting in Tirana takes place at a time when cross-border cooperation, information exchange and the use of technology in investigations have become an increasingly important part of the work of law enforcement agencies.
