NAME/ TRAGIC accident with 8 dead in Këlcyre, the driver of the rented

A tragic accident happened in the early hours of this morning (April 2) in Këlcyra.

A rented "Benz" type vehicle, which was driven by Edison Bregaj , and inside it were also 7 clandestines, ended up on the bed of the Vjosë river, where all of them lost their lives as a result.

The vehicle was spotted by a police patrol, which called on him to stop, but Bregaj refused to obey the police order by increasing the speed.

The operatives started chasing him, but then he was lost from their sight. After many checks, it was verified around 04:00 that the 'Benz' had ended up on the Vjo river bed.

The driver of the vehicle is reported to have been traveling at over 200 km/h, causing him to lose control and "fly" about 300 meters in the air from the road towards the river.

The high speed of the vehicle is also confirmed by the fact that before the fatal moment, the 'Benz' driven by an Edison Brengaj, did not collide with the metal curb of the road, but ended up on the river bed. As for the seven migrants, there is still no information about their identity.
