Professor Fehim Ramadani passed away today. He closed his eyes forever at the age of 87.
He is one of the torchbearers of Albanian language education in North Macedonia, especially in Kumanovo, as well as one of the Albanian patriotic figures.
The professor, Fehim Ramadani, was born on August 25, 1936 in Slupçan, Kumanovo, where he finished elementary school.
Professor Ramadani completed the Teaching School in Skopje, while he continued his diplomatic studies in Skopje and Pristina in the Albanian Language and Literature branch of the Faculty of Philosophy.
Ramadani started teaching at the "Jeta e Re" school in Sllupçan as one of the first teachers of the Albanian language and then for 8 years in a row he was the director of this school.
During this period, he made drastic reforms in Kumanovo, initiating mass education in the Albanian language for the younger generations in general, and for girls in particular.
Professor Ramadani was the founder of the first student choir and orchestra in the municipality of Likova, thus promoting Albanian artistic values in this region.
Later, he worked as a professor of Albanian Language and Literature at the "Goce Dellcev" high school in Kumanovo.
Throughout his life as an educator, he was a symbol of patriotic resistance and numerous patriotic organizations. For this reason, he was politically persecuted and imprisoned several times by the Macedonian government at the time to finally quit his job as a teacher in 1981.
Despite the challenges, Professor Ramadani will be remembered for his professionalism in his work for the transmission of knowledge to many generations of Albanians in North Macedonia.
The burial of Professor Fehim Ramadani will take place tomorrow, on 15.06.2023, in the cemetery of the village of Opajë in Kumanovo.
